Dental Care
Pets have teeth too!
Regular dental check-ups and preventive dental healthcare is an important part of maintaining health.
We can provide routine dental healthcare, advice and recommendations for oral hygiene techniques in pets.
We also have dental x-ray facilities throughout all of our sites.
Gum disease if left untreated can cause not only pain for your pet but can seriously damage its vital organs. It is therefore important to keep a check on their teeth and gums through regular dental appointments.
The build-up of plaque and tartar on your pet’s teeth can lead to infection in the gums and roots of the teeth.
Gum disease is one of the most common problems seen by our vets and their message is always: “Prevention is better than cure.”
Scaling tartar from the teeth and polishing the surfaces will get the mouth back to almost new if no extractions are needed. Loose teeth and any with infected roots should be removed, as should teeth with significant feline odontoclastic resorption lesions (FORLs) in cats.
If you have concerns, make an appointment with our nurses so you can talk about the best dental care and treatment for your pet.
