About us
We aim to provide a high quality caring and professional service, with friendly staff, in a welcoming and relaxed environment. Both sites are fully equipped with modern surgical, anaesthetic, radiography, laboratory and hospitalisation facilities to deal with all aspects of modern veterinary practice. We are accredited under Tier 2 of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Practice Standards Scheme. This is a voluntary scheme aimed at practices wishing to attain very high standards.
The highest standards
Severn Veterinary Centre aspires to work to the highest standards of veterinary care. This is achieved by investing in both the staff we employ and the facilities we offer.
We have a policy of employing qualified veterinary nurses and we are also a veterinary nurse training centre. Our vets have extensive knowledge and experience. All the veterinary surgeons have their own areas of expertise, giving us an extremely wide scope of veterinary medical and surgical knowledge.
Our sites are regularly inspected by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons to ensure we meet or exceed all the standards laid down by our governing body. In line with these standards we actively promote professional development of all our staff to ensure we continue to offer the most up-to-date clinical advice and treatment options for your pet. An important part of our training program is regular staff meetings during which we can discuss client feedback and audit our clinical outcomes and successes.
Our facilities are modern and comprehensive, with advanced equipment including digital radiographic x-ray equipment, ultrasound, air powered equipment for surgery and dentistry, diathermy and fully equipped laboratories.
The conjunction of excellent staff training and our investment in modern equipment allows us to offer our patients the care they need in house. This means that in most cases, pets can be treated quickly and effectively at Severn Veterinary Centre. All our sites can perform procedures and operations such as neutering, dentals, x-rays, lump removals, wound care, blood tests, blood transfusions, ultrasonography, radiography and hospitalisation. More specialist treatments such as fracture repairs, spinal surgery and joint surgery are carried out at our Berkeley House practice, while Ophthalmology and Acupuncture are carried out at the Tybridge House practice.
However, in those rare instances where your pet requires care beyond the facilities of Severn Veterinary Centre, we will endeavour to promptly arrange on your behalf a referral to a specialist offering the expertise and facilities your pet needs.
Fees
In order to keep costs under control, fees are payable at the time of consultation or at the time of collection following surgery. To facilitate payment, the surgery is happy to accept cheques with a banker's card and most credit and debit cards including Maestro. A list of current fees for routine procedures is available in the reception area, and an estimate of fees will always be given upon request.
